Hi Carol Ann,
In everyday life do you see the 'cup half full' or the 'cup half empty' most of the time? Thanks.

Great Question, Robyn. Truly I do see the cup as half full. Each and every day is filled with opportunities and new things to learn to add more to the cup. I am an optimist who always seems to find something good in every situation. Thanks for the question! You are now entered in the contest. Good luck.

Hmm,good question, Tehya. I think my favorite book to write was Foxfire. I fell in love with the characters. They'll always have a special place in my heart. However, I am writing a historical "wild west" romance that is a ton of fun so far. Thanks for stopping by!

What is your favorite genre to write?

Sorry about the Buckeyes. We're huge fans and were quite disappointed!

Carol Ann said...

rshadde1, thanks for your question! There's no question about the genre I like to write. It's romance! I write mostly romantic suspense, but I do like to write sweet romances too. Some of my romances are rated "spicy", because they do contain love scenes, though they are NOT graphic love scenes. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Carol, What's the best writing advice you ever been given.

Carol Ann said...

Hi Cherie,
As for research, it depends of course on the book. Hit and Run posed the most problems. I had to find out about fingerprints, and whether or not a burned body could be autopsied to find the cause of death prior to the fire as strangulation. I usually use the internet to do my research although I do have several very good books on my writing shelf as well. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Ani,
The best writing advice I've ever been given...hmmm. Probably not to give up. To keep persevering and submitting, and most of all, not to take rejection personally. I was a terrible writer when I submitted my first ms. I felt like giving up after I received the rejection, but that advice kicked in and I started learning the craft and submitting, submitting, submitting....

Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Judy,
I have so many stories floating in my head that it's a wonder I can remember where I live. LOL! Most of my stories start with just a scene or a character. I might see something on television, or see a person who draws my attention, and bam! My mind starts spinning a story from that. Sometimes I'm just meditating, usually in my car, and a scene starts painting in my mind. I add a character and some action and I'm off. Usually that scene gets rewritten or trashed though! Thanks for asking!

Hi Carol!
Do you have a favorite author you like to read, and are there any authors that have influenced you in the way you write?

Congrats on the release of Foxfire! It sounds really good! :)

Carol Ann said...

Oh, my! I have so many "favorite" authors. Probably my top favorite author is Nicholas Sparks.

I'm sure all my fav authors have influenced the way I write, though I don't think my voice is like any of them. I love the way Dean Koonts puts together a thriller and also some of Stephen King's works. I love the ticking clock. I've read so many thrillers and romantic suspense novels, that my writing kind of pans out that way no matter what I start to write.

Thanks for the congrats on Foxfire, and thanks for stopping by!

Dear Carol Ann

What would you most like your readers to remember you for?

If given the opportunity to visit one of your fictional settings in person, which would you pick and why?

Carol Ann said...

Hi Jennybrat,

I'd like my readers to remember me as an author that writes books they can't put down.

I'd love to visit Foxfire, Tennessee. I love the people who live there and nothing is more peaceful than the mountains.

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Caro; Ann,
I'm Rhonda Barnes. Do you have any suggestions for krrpimg the romantic sprk alive in a lomg-term marriage? Thanks!

Carol Ann said...

Hello Rhonda,
My suggestion would be to plan surprise romantic interludes for special occasions (birthdays, anniversaries) such as, a night at a hotel, complete with room service for dinner, candles on the table, and a brand new sexy negligee. Leave a note on the table instructing him to come to the hotel and go to room number xxx. Then when he arrives, open the door wearing nothing but the negligee and a smile...or you could forget the negligee. Just make sure no one is in the hallway at the time!!
