Yesterday the snow started early in the morning. Very fine snow, no big flakes. But, boy did it ever pile up quickly. I use our leaf blower to clear the walks and drive (and the car). Sure did get a workout yesterday. I went out twice, and in addition walked for 20 minutes on my treadmill. Let me tell you, last night I hurt all over!!!
This morning I woke up feeling great...until I went outside to feed the feral cats and realized I had another three inches of snow on my once clear walk and drive. So, this time I used the snow shovel to clear the snow. Ugh!
Today the sun is shining beautifully, so even though it's only 11 degrees, the snow is melting from the roads. I'm so glad, because tomorrow morning I am planning on attending a writing workshop.
And, more good news, I now have my black nubuck Sketchers on my feet! Hurray!
Hope you all have found something to smile about today!!

Talking to Goldfish?????
I've always known my hubby has a soft spot for animals, especially cats. When he took early retirement, he spent most of his days with only the cats for company. Consequently, you can hear him say things like "Templeton, are you Daddy's little boy?" The cat responds with a quick "Meow." They carry on quite a conversation. Now that I'm home, I've experienced their long conversations, and I swear the cat understands him. : )
However, the other morning I had a shock. Hubby had discovered the fish tank water elevated. Somehow, the heater had gotten turned up (those pesky fish), so he needed to get it under control. These fish (which I call goldfish with fancy tails) have a special name. My hubby is quick to correct anyone who asks if they are goldfish. These fish are huge! We had one die not too long ago and it barely fit in the net. But I digress. Hubby stuck his hand into the water and one of the fish came up and nibbled on it. When this happens, he is elated. He thinks he's tamed them or something. So I said, "Well, they are hungry and wanted to take a little bite." I went about my business and then heard, "You are Daddy's little babies. Poor little babies. Daddy will fix the water for you. Come on, come give Daddy's finger a kiss."
Ack!!!! If the fish ever start talking back, I'm moving out. I believe he thinks he's Daddy Doolittle.
Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by.

Paa-Paa
My husband is known as paa-paa to our grandchildren. He has deep-set dark brown eyes and a deep voice. Add that he's as hairy as an ape and you have a frightening picture to a little child. It's amusing to watch little ones we don't know when they catch a glimpse of my big teddy-bear man. They stare openly, turning their head when he looks at them, but eventually they have to grin back at him. I guess his warm heart can be viewed from inside that big barrel chest in the eyes of a child.
I'm enclosing one of my favorite pics taken during a Sunday afternoon gathering when the little ones were playing in the backyard kiddy pool. Our three year old grand-daughter had climbed up on Paa-Paa's lap, wet suit and all.

Now take that smile and share it with someone else today!

Cupcakes -- Good to the last Crumb
There is nothing better than starting your day with a smile on your face and a song in your heart. In searching through my photos to find something that might make you smile, I found this. Our family had gathered to celebrate a grandson's birthday at the park. One of our grandsons found the best way to eat a cupcake is to just dive right in.
Enjoy!!

I wish you many smiles and much laughter today! It's happy, it's healthy, and calorie free! Indulge.

Smiling is Healthy...
How can you keep from smiling when you see this picture?

My mother is a cat person...like mother, like daughter. *grin* She chose to leave her beloved cats behind when she moved in with us because they were older cats and she feared they wouldn't make the trip. I worried about her leaving them behind, and she had a lot of moments when she teared up and I'm sure she cried in private. But, our three cats have given her a lot of happiness. They've adopted her and now they spend more time with her than with us. Templeton waits patiently on her walker for her to "give him a ride" each day.
I hope I've given you a smile with my picture today. Thanks for stopping by!
